Potty Training Break-Through

I have not pushed Kaylee too much to potty train because she has not been interested. She will sit on the toilet for a few seconds but never really goes. Yesterday we hit a major milestone with her potty training. She stayed dry for 7 hours. We went to Brenham yesterday as a family to look at the bluebonnets. We had her go to the bathroom before we left. She did not go but it was a good try and every time we stopped for someone to go to the bathroom we brought Kaylee. We don't think she went any of those times but she stayed dry which was amazing. Right before we left the restaurant in Brenham David brought Kaylee to the restroom again and this time she went. She was so excited and proud of herself. We stopped at the Wal-Mart in Brenham to get her a small reward for actually going potty in the toilet. (And at Naomi's suggestion bought her some Ariel panties.) She was so proud of herself. On the way home, Kaylee fell asleep and we were desperately hoping she would be down for the night. However, right as we pulled into our development she started waking up and squirming. I thought we were doomed but I asked Kaylee if she had to go potty and she said uh-huh. So as soon as we got home we went straight to the potty. And amazingly she went poo-poo. We were all very impressed. After she went to the bathroom she went to her room and fell asleep. Hopefully this is a start in a new direction for her potty training.

My Little Jiminy Cricket

Last night, I was sitting in the family room flipping thru channels trying to find something to watch. Kaylee was definitely asleep and I thought Naomi was in bed at least so I decided to watch the tail end of a NCIS episode. Well, Naomi was not asleep and climbed into my lab right as Ducky made a Y incision on a dead guy. At which point, Naomi hid her head in my side and informed me that I needed to change the channel that the show I was watching was not appropriate for little kids. Needless to say I had to stop watching my grown-up show and put on Noggin for her. (Yes, I should have sent her back to bed but I had a BAD migraine last night and did not feel well enough to fight the bed issue.)

Interview with Kaylee

Kaylee is too cute for words. She is definitely going to give us a run for our money when she is a teenager. P.S. When she says she likes to watch Melody, she is talking about her Little Mermaid II DVD.

Fun with Mom

This week is spring break for me so I get the privilege of spending more time with my cute little girls. Today the girls and I decided to make lunch together. I thought personal pizzas would be fun to make with the girls and Naomi wanted to make ants on a log too. We had lots of fun making our lunch and then eating it too.
Ants on a log. A perfect snack for Kaylee. Two of her favorite foods peanut butter and raisins.
Yummy pizzas. Refrigerator biscuits-Sauce-Cheese-and a Pepperoni

Eco-Friendly Bug Catcher

We haven't figured out why but Kaylee loves to catch mosquito hawks (a bug). She is pretty good at catching them too. Whenever one is in a room, Kaylee usually finds it and catches it and throws it away. (Maybe it is because her mom is a biology teacher. Her mom does not have a problem catching bugs either.)

Failed Manners 101

Why can't I use my foot to hold my fork?!?

Want to be like Naomi

Kaylee loves her big sister and wants to do everything she does. Naomi loves to ride her bike (and is getting quite good at it). Naturally Kaylee wants to ride a bike too. A couple weeks ago, there was a fight over Naomi's bike. (Kaylee did not want to get off of Naomi's bike even though she has no clue on how to ride one.) To solve the bike problem, we got out Aurora's old bike and fixed it up for Kaylee. Kaylee can't really peddle yet but she sure loves to get on the bike and be pushed or pulled right along by her sister.

Trip to Arizona

On Valentine's weekend, David and I went to Arizona by ourselves for the blessing of his new neice Devyn. It was a quick trip to and from but we enjoyed the time without the girls.

The Watsons

We thought it was interesting that we left Texas and went to Arizona and found SNOW!!

Silly Girls

Everyone needs at least one picture of them wearing their pants on backwards!!

Very Late Valentine's Post

I have been very behind on posting but here are some happenings from that day:

Naomi filling out Valentine's cards for the homeschool V-Day party.

The girls showing off the Valentine's butterfly magnets they made for their cousins. Too bad Mommy forgot to bring them to Arizona with her. Opps.

It has been a tradition in my family to make heart shape pizza for Valentine's Day. This year was the first year that I attempted to make them. I think they turned out pretty well.

New and Improved Sleeping Bags

Kids have the greatest imaginations. Lately I have been finding Kaylee's mermaid dolls in my shoes. When I asked Kaylee what they where doing there, she said they were sleeping bags. Hmm, good thing I have lots of shoes. P.S. My tennis shoes are the cars for the mermaids.

Letters to Grandma

Naomi is learning how to write. She is pretty good at writing most of the alphabet and if prompted she can write words if someone will sound each letter for her. One Sunday Naomi decided that she wanted to practice writing by writing a letter to her Grandma Brown. We were pretty good for about a month writing to her Grandma and Grandpa every Sunday but then Mommy got out of the routine. We better get back on the horse because Naomi loves to write letters to Grandma and Grandpa. Not only that but it also is great handwriting practice without Naomi knowing that she is doing "schoolwork".
