Project Clean-up Arizona

While we were in Arizona, I started to get very congested in my chest. I was talking to my in-laws and I said that the dust in Arizona was getting to me. Kaylee overheard us talking. And she told my mother-in-law that she (grandma) needed to clean-up Arizona so mommy (I) can come back and visit. So Grandma, you better start cleaning up Arizona. P.S. Kaylee says that if you use soap and water, it will clean all of the dust right up!!!

Fact or Fiction

Today on the way home from school, Naomi and I got into a discussion about David and Goliath. Naomi wanted to know if Goliath being a giant was fact or fiction. She asked if Goliath was a real giant or was he just wearing stilts. Boy, this child is always analyzing and pondering the deeper meaning of things.

Just for Grins...

Naomi reminds me not to forget to give her her asteroid medicine. :o) (In case you were wondering, she means the steroids for the ant bites.)

Just to Make You Smile

Kaylee fell asleep when David came to pick Naomi and I up from school today. When we got back home, David laid her on the couch with her coat still on. When Kaylee woke up, Naomi told Kaylee to take her coat off because she was preheating herself. :o)

Momma Guess What...

Kaylee came and sat on my lap last night held my face between her two hands and said, "Momma, guess what?" After giving the appropriate response, she told me that she was going to be a TEENAGER!! Oh, no! My 3 year old is growing up way too fast. I love her anyway!

Missing Number

For awhile now Kaylee has been counting to 10. She is pretty good at it. What is funny about it is that she misses 5 every time she counts. We stop her and remind her about the 5 but the next time she counts she forgets 5 again. 5 just does not exist in her world.

My What an Imagination You Have Kaylee...

I have been making bread in my bread machine lately. Tonight I asked Kaylee what type of bread she wanted me to make. I gave her the options of sourdough, white, potato or oatmeal. Kaylee thought about it for a minute and said Cake Bread. I told her I don't have a recipe for cake bread. She thought some more and told me the recipe is to mix candles and ice cream together. YUM!?!?

My Little Jiminy Cricket

Last night, I was sitting in the family room flipping thru channels trying to find something to watch. Kaylee was definitely asleep and I thought Naomi was in bed at least so I decided to watch the tail end of a NCIS episode. Well, Naomi was not asleep and climbed into my lab right as Ducky made a Y incision on a dead guy. At which point, Naomi hid her head in my side and informed me that I needed to change the channel that the show I was watching was not appropriate for little kids. Needless to say I had to stop watching my grown-up show and put on Noggin for her. (Yes, I should have sent her back to bed but I had a BAD migraine last night and did not feel well enough to fight the bed issue.)

Cookies in the Nose

Kaylee has been congested for quite awhile now. Tonight I brought her downstairs to try and get some stuff to clear out her nose. Instead of saying I was going to clean the boogers out I said gookies (sp?). When we got downstairs, Kaylee started asking about cookies. I couldn't figure out what she was talking about but she was definitely not having cookies before bedtime. Later as we were laying in her bed, she started sneezing and coughing again. She then informed Naomi and I that she had more cookies in her nose and she needed to get them out. Ah-ha, on comes my light bulb, when I told Kaylee I was going to get the gookies out of her nose she thought I said cookies. Hence why she was asking about the cookies. Poor kid, now she thinks there are cookies in her nose :o)

We're like pigs not bears

Last weekend, Naomi and I were out shopping. It was pretty cold and we were on our way home. I was thirsty and was thinking a cold drink might be nice but then hot chocolate would be good too. I asked Naomi which she would prefer and she said she wanted hot chocolate. When I was asked her why, she responded we were like pigs. To me this came as a total shock and so I said What? And then Naomi said we are like pigs not bears. Pigs have skin and bears have fur. So we were like pigs because we have skin not fur. Isn't the logic of a four year old interesting? In a nut shell, she wanted hot chocolate because it was cold outside and we were like pigs not bears and don't have fur to keep us warm!!
